When Vestar tried to do to Chandler what it's now doing to Oro Valley, Sandra Laney, a local business owner, wouldn't take "done deal" for an answer. She fought back and won. Vestar agreed to divide the proposed Wal*Mart space, and brought in a Sprouts and a Steinmart instead.
